The Fox Chapel Area District Forum is hosting a meeting with the district’s state legislators Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be a forum discussion addressing pertinent issues facing public education. This will be followed by the opportunity to speak one-on-one with the legislators. Legislators scheduled to attend include Senator Randy Vulakovich and Representatives Dom Costa, Anthony DeLuca, Frank Dermody, and Hal English.
On January 31, District Forum held an emergency meeting to discuss the impact of potential legislation often referred to as SB 76, or the Property Tax Independence Act. The upcoming meeting on April 20 will include this topic as well as the PSSAs and
Keystone exams, pensions, and charter schools – all legislative concerns that directly impact the school district and its residents.
“We look forward to learning from Senator Vulakovich and the representatives about these important educational issues and how they are being addressed at the state level,” said Elizabeth Klamut, president of the Fox Chapel Area District Forum.
District Forum provides an opportunity for parents and residents in the community to discuss districtwide topics of interest with the district administration.
All members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend. The meeting will be held in the Fox Chapel Area High School large group instruction room. The high school is located at 611 Field Club Road in O’Hara Township. Attendees should enter by
the fox statue in the back of the high school.
